Patch panels are recommended for cable management. They make it easy to add or change connections to your switch.
Do's and Don'ts for Data Cabling:
Use Plenum cable for all commercial environments.
Don't run cable within one foot of power sources.
Don't bend cable more than 90 degrees.
Avoid stretching cables more than 25 pounds of pressure during installation.
Don't run cable over or near florescent lights.
Do not run cable longer than 328 feet.
If you bundle cables (zip ties) don't over cinch them.
Do not run cable outside of a building. It presents a very dangerous lightning hazard.
Do not use a stapler to secure the cable.
Avoid putting cables near lights, copy machines, motors, microwaves, speakers & fans
